DDNS for an RTSP camera
Use this page when the camera must be reachable from the internet, but the public IP changes or you do not want to rely on a raw IP address.
DDNS does not replace the need for a publicly reachable RTSP stream, but it often makes a changing public IP usable for both testing and website placement. This page helps you decide whether DDNS is the missing part of your setup.
What to check first
- verify that the public IP or hostname really points to the current network with the camera
- check that the router or camera updates the DDNS record automatically and correctly
- combine DDNS with correct port forwarding and a security decision before the next test
